KINDNESS PROJECT

Long before the tragedy at Virginia Tech, the Diversity Council for an Inclusive CSUEB sought to find a way to infuse a culture of belonging and openness into our everyday interactions.
To this end, we offer this card, with its serene image and words of Maya Angelou, as a cue to treat each student we encounter with respect, kindness, and dignity.
It is our hope that you will place this card in your office where it can remind you that no matter how busy or pressured you may be that each of us, through a friendly smile, eye contact, or an extra minute of interest and empathy, can warm our institution like the sun on the card and make those we serve feel acknowledged and appreciated.
